1. Fully Usable Without an Account (Anonymous by Default)
PicsTools does not force or require you to register, sign up, or link an email address to use any editing tool.
You can install the app and immediately compress, resize, crop, remove backgrounds, convert formats, create PDFs, and scan signatures completely anonymously.
Your saved editing history, app settings, and sound preferences are stored locally on your device in your private app sandbox directory.
We generate an anonymous device session ID via Firebase Authentication solely to ensure your local preferences can persist seamlessly. This identifier is never linked to your real identity unless you explicitly sign in.

2. Optional Cloud Sync for Multi-Device History Backup
If you choose to sign in (via Google Sign-In or Email Authentication), PicsTools offers an optional cloud backup feature so your saved history can be accessed across multiple devices.
What is synced: Only the processed output images that you save to your history list, along with file metadata (tool type, original size, output size, timestamp).
Where it is stored: Synced files are stored in private, encrypted Cloudflare R2 object storage and Google Cloud Firestore.
No Public Sharing: Your photos are completely private to your account. We never publish, broadcast, sell, or rent your photos to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.
No AI Training on Your Photos: Your photos are NEVER used to train, fine-tune, or validate any machine learning or generative AI models.

6. Account Deletion & User Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

How to Delete Your Account & Cloud Profile
You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud credentials at any time directly inside the app:
Open PicsTools on your mobile device.
Tap the Settings tab $\rightarrow$ tap Privacy Policy.
Scroll to the bottom and tap the red button: DELETE ACCOUNT & CLOUD DATA.
Choose whether to retain or wipe your local device files, and confirm.
Your user profile and credentials are removed from Firebase immediately, and the app resets to a fresh guest session.
Manual Deletion Requests: If you uninstalled the application and wish to request manual deletion of your account and cloud profile, email us at deltrix.dev@gmail.com with the subject "PicsTools Account Deletion Request" from your registered email address. We will permanently delete your records within 48 hours.

Abuse Safeguards: Our backend and authentication layer implements strict 24-hour cooldowns on account deletion and automated rate-limiting to prevent unauthorized cycling or storage abuse.

PicsTools is a general utility productivity application intended for users aged 13 and older (or 16 and older in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
